I loved being at the HungryMan gallery, Ogi's show was my first fashion show that I saw during Chicago's fashion week, since moving back to my hometown. I saw colors combined in a way that I never saw before. The first thing that came to my mind was 'disco-chic, I saw influences of glitz and glamour from the early 1980's. Very studio 54! It's coming back in the music, Ogi is bringing it back in fashion. I enjoyed the collection and as a designer myself, I appreciate all of what went into the collection, it was great!

This collection pushed boundries! Liquid Gold had a subtle elegance about it which provided the perfect backdrop for the fabrics that Ogi used. The draping was great, she took a risk draping ultra shinny gold and silver lame. I saw the collection on the rack and on the runway. Simply put she pulled it off! It's time for fashion in the midwest to pushed to be forward, afterall, that's just what Chicago needs...don't you concur?

I loved the Liquid Gold Collection! The runway show was great! There were several standout pieces that I loved. My favorite, the Silver Ultra Mini dress, that's the one! I am in the process of talking to Ogi now about getting that dress!

Inspired by the late 1970's and early 1980's, I combined the decades to give the collection a very rich feel and capture excitement. The collection features contrast. Straight lines with flowy drapery, simple designs with loud fabrics. I felt that it was time to create something new in the world of fashion. There is a slight avant garde edge to each piece. I wanted the garment to do all the work for the woman. Hair pinned back, natural face and you look like the future of fashion.
Liquid gold is a flow and a shine....all women have liquid gold inside of them. I wanted to create a collection that would make a woman feel like she owned the room the minute that she walked through the door. I'm offering color combinations that you have never seen before. So many women have gotten accustomed to blending in. We have forgot our own individual points of view when it comes to style. When you have that special moment, it could be New Years Eve, your Birthday or perhaps that Red Carpet event and you want to set the standard, a piece from the Liquid Gold Collection answers the call.

The Liquid Gold Collection made a huge splash at
Chicago 's NBC5-Universal's homage to
Photographer/Author Micheal Abramson's new book
"Light On The South Side".
NBC5's Producer Deborah Brown asked Ogi Merzier to be the Lead Wardrobe Stylist for the photoshoot and the resident Vintage Fashion expert for the evening.
When Deborah mentioned that she wanted a
"Studio 54" look, I knew I had to bring key pieces from my Liquid Gold Collection, Ogi mentions.
Merzier was also asked to lend her expertise for a interview which will air on the "The Talk",
(Sunday's at 7:30am C.S.T.) with
Host Marion Brooks.
